Will it ever be safe to go back in the water? Well, at least in Majesco's upcoming Jaws: Ultimate Predator, you get to be the hunter instead of the hunted. Players take control of a Great White Shark hell-bent on destroying maritime peace in this M-rated title for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii, all the while proving that, yes, gratuitous acts of underwater violence have a place on Nintendo platforms.

From what we can see in the trailer after the jump, what this title lacks in realistic physics -- just look at how those boats bounce around the water as though they're made of plastic -- it may make up for in shark-driven mayhem. Ecco pulled it off, why can't a man-eating shak?

I was always a little disturbed by how Quint, the quintessential -- pun intended -- shark-hunting badass from the 1975 Spielberg classic practically leapt into the Great White's open maw. But hunting a miniature Robert Shaw would definitely be an entertaining distraction. Fingers crossed here.
