11 Minutes of PS4’s Outlast Game Involves A Lot of Searching, Running and Being Thrown

If you wanted a better idea of what Red Barrels’ PS4 survival horror title Outlast is like, a new 11-minute video has been released by AllGamesBeta, showing protagonist and journalist Miles Upshur as he breaks into an insane asylum looking for news… and finds something much worse.

The video (which you can view below) shows off Miles’ dependence on his camera’s night vision to see in the dark, the need to search for batteries to keep your camera going, and a whole lot of running, looking back, and getting thrown around. The game has a sort of Mirror’s Edge-meets-Silent Hill quality to it, and looks similar to the last time we saw footage of it last year: but I suppose we’ll have to wait for more details to be sure until the game releases to the PS4 in Winter 2014.

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
