2 Player Productions Making a Minecraft Documentary, Releasing in February

2 Player Productions, creators of season one of Penny Arcade TV and the highly-lauded chiptune documentary Reformat the Planet, have apparently been shooting a documentary based on last year’s indie phenomenon, Minecraft. According to Bytejacker, the documentary looks to focus specifically on creator Notch’s company, Mojang Specifications, and what life is like in the shoes of a developer responsible for one of the most profitable indie games released this generation.

The film comes out sometime in February, and as one of the many on this staff that have fallen victim to Minecraft‘s seductions, I cannot wait to see what those crazy Swedes put in their game to make it so irresistable. Hit 2PP’s site to see a few stills of the doc, which seems to consist mainly of Notch’s ruggedly sexy mug.

As a straight, red-blooded American, I find absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
