Dragon Age: Origins 2 Gets An Exact Release Date

1UP is reporting that inside copies of the Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening expansion, which hits store shelves next week, there is a printed confirmation of the exact release date for a sequel. That release date is February 1, 2011. That day does indeed fall on a Tuesday, the typical game release day for North America. Why announce it so early? To build up hype? I don’t think the franchise needs hype built up this early, if you ask me. The first game should speak for itself. But hey, if EA and Bioware are confident enough that they’ll have a nice, polished game done in just under a year from now, I’m all for it and I definitely look forward to it.

that’s my birthday, they made it easy for you guys to decide what to get for me…

If the execs at EA stop fingering themselves and giving each other sloppy blow jobs, for a span of 5 minutes, they might realize what people really want is an added multiplayer co-op expansion.

Baldur’s gate had it. Never Winter nights had it. Get with it EA.

yer that would make the game really interesting ive always thought exactly the same

@The Naked Robber: I have to say, while I’m not a huge fan of multi-player in my single-player RPGs, I do actually think it would work well in DAO – local and online co-op would be hot.

  • Alistair is Cool

I aggre with chad and naked but i’d rather they make a real super brill single player game like origins then have a laggy buggy glitchy ok mp online game

  • alistair is king

i think they should make a ending so that when you beat the game, you can still fight and level up

  • teyrn cousland

I was slightly looking forward to still fighting once i finish the main quest. i was sadly disappointed. I dont do alot of multi player, other peoples stupidity and wondering off to a different part of the map doesnt make me happy, it happens time and again. I extremly for a very nice single player experience. hit me with single player.

How would the tactical mode (freeze time) work on multi?

  • JustinDARKSPAWN

It would also be good if you can explore the world openly without them “Pain in the Ass” loading screens.
Similar to fallout 3′s way of exploring.

Hell no!!! I loved that I didn’t have to walk around from one spot to another. That is why I love how they got rid of the planet travelling in Mass Effect 2.

  • I-CUD-B-UR-DADDY

    That’s my birthday too …LOL

  • Mr. Origins

I am going to have to say DAO is much better suited for single player. Multiplayer fans are obsessed and need to realize not every game is meant to be a multiplayer paradise.

Dragon Age 2 releases on 1st february 2011… 7 months left… Let’s hope it will be batter than Origins and Awakening. The storyline is absolutely great but you feel like in a cage, travelling from town to town on a map with blod-drops. They could have worked more on the universe assuring free movement or at least area transfer ( like in Fable:The lost chapters )

Also, the game is pretty short (if you jump over side quests) And you cannot keep on playing after you finished it.

The party camp is a great place for taking a nap. But the atmosphere is very boring. All your companions stand still like statues. They could have added some options for them, like armour polishing, meat roasting, playing with your marbi houd or even “Camp Parties” or “Duels”.
Good things about camp are the “kiss” and “sex” scenes, which could have been developed, without being forced to use “MODs” for a batter experience.

Even though teh story is great, it can be extended to additional quests AFTER ending The Blith. If you play like human nobel, reclaiming Castel Consuland is a good idea. As Elf you could try unite the dalish clans and find a new Homeland. As dwarf, helping at rebuilding the lost fortresses in Deep Roads would be a nice idea. And as an overall quest, for all races, a politic war with Orlais. The Orlaisians try to take teh control over Ferelden like they long time ago, when Loghain drove them out. And TEH MOST IMPORTANT : Free Travel after End-Game. Everyne apreciates teh ability of free travelling adn side-question even though teh mian story has ended. ( Or at least I would )

Some Free Action would be warm welcome. Soemthing like going to Dust Town beneath Orzammar adn help teh poor baggers there. Or help teh poor elves in the aliange in Denerim. Here, I want to add teh ability of robbing everyone you see.

As i said before, teh story is great. Well, it still has its own “black holes”. And here i refer to Morrigan adn teh child you would have made for saving yours adn Alistair’s lives, Andrasete’s Ashes Urn. And what happens to Leliana ? Zevren ? Sten ? Oghren ?… OK, forget Ohgren, he becomes general filling the gap left by Loghain (if you kill him of course). I wish, after End-Game, you could help them, in a way or another : Avange Leliana for what the chevaliers done to her, find a safe plcae for Zevren or deal with The Crows for leaving Zevren be, pick Sten’s hand and bring him home, safely and in one piece (or what left of him if you let him in the cage in Lothering, like I did first time). And let’s not forget Wynn, but maybe we can, she becomes chancellor for Alistair if you get make him king.

Above all, becoming Alistair’s Queeen have to bring you some great incomes. And a good thing might be having a child which you can grow and teach him to te become a great king like his father is.

And now because Dragon Age 2 is officially released on 1st February next year, I hope BioWare would listen to Origins’ fans and make one great game form DA2 whatever the cost.

P.S. I think of contacting BioWare Team and send them “Best Whishes” for Dragon Age Origins and all ideas i have for a batter Dragon Age.

    • Dragon Age Fan

Dude, I agree with everything you said. You got alot of good Idea man. Please, send your ideas to BioWare team, I hope they listen to you good info. I mean I was thinking about the same thing. I did not like how the game ended in a way. I mean I wanted to travel with Stern or help out my other chartcter’s.

If they don’t listen to your Idea it will be Really sad to me.

  • Zathros

i herd that it took 5 years to develop it if thatt is true then it deffo show in the game so bringing no 2 out so soon afterwords make me think tha it’s not true and that the card is an add for something else. (I hope) I also worry that bringing DA2 out so soon will result in a realy shody and unfinished game and that will hert the franchice and the rep of bioware.

    or i could be wrong!
