This week Famitsu has published an interview with big-time Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura on the progress of Kingdom Hearts 3D. While he didn’t mention anything we haven’t already learned from TGS, he did offer a blip of commentary on the anxiously-anticipated and ever-elusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Nomura told Famitsu that he has done a complete walk-through of the entire world map as well as double-checked all dungeons and towns, calling the scope of exploration in the game “wide” and “impressive.”
Nomura also commented that the entire game’s lighting scheme has been redone, as the team is aiming for photo realism with its graphics. He ended the interview by promising Final Fantasy fans that this will be a contribution to the series unlike any we’ve ever seen.
Versus XIII was first announced at E3 back in 2006, and has been “in development” since. We’ll just have sit tight and take Nomura’s word that this time they’re working on it full-force. Patience is a virtue, Noctis fans.
