You Can Unlock the Original Sonic the Hedgehog Game in Sonic Generations

Nostalgic Sonic fans have another reason to look forward to the release of Sonic Generations, that will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November the 1st and on 3DS on November the 22nd.

The game’s producer Takashi Iizuka just revealed during a panel at Paris Games Week that the full original Sonic the Hedgehog game will be unlockable in Sonic Generations. That’s definitely a welcome little bonus for those that think that the blue hedgehog needs to go back to it’s origins (and Generations itself seems a good step in that direction).

Iizuka-san didn’t share how the game will be unlocked, but i guess we’ll discover that soon.

    If I had to guess I would say you probably unlock it via the challenges that exist for each stage. There arequite a few of them. This is cool news, this titles is shaping up nicely.

      I think I read something earlier on about how you get some sort of currency based on your score for each level, you probably get it from that.

    Is it even unlockable in the 3DS version? Or only the PS360 versions? :(

      he didn’t specify, so until contrary evidence we can theorize it’s on all versions.
