The rumor that Mortal Kombat would be heading to the PlayStation Vita dates back to August, when a single image surfaced touting the title Mortal Kombat: Vitality. We can now confirm that such a game is in development thanks to an update made to the PlayStation blog yesterday. Sony outlines a sizable list of launch titles for the upcoming handheld, before listing games in development for it.
Mortal Kombat (no subtitle) was one of the games, confirming that the bloody brawler will hit the Vita. Furthermore, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (which was rumored to be in development for the Vita yesterday) was notably absent from the list of upcoming games. Stay tuned for the official reveal of Mortal Kombat: Vitality and the inevitable confirmation of TTT2 for the Vita.
