When two big names like Ron Gilbert and Tim Schaefer team up to make a game, people pay attention. The only problem comes when that team decides to be as secretive as either of them usually are on their own, and we have nothing to get excited about. We now have our first taste of whatever is going on in the form of some art by Mr Gilbert himself, so you may now officially start getting excited.
Gilbert says that the idea for this game actually predates both Manic Mansion and Monkey Island, and is a game that “needs to be made”, so color me ready. Check out the full pieces after the break.
“Here are a couple of fine pieces of concept art from the game I’m making with the amazing folks at Double Fine. I’m so excited. This is an idea that has been in my head for a long long long time. It predates Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island. It’s a game that needed to be made… That’s all I can say right now, but more will follow later.”
