On Monday, Sony held its PlayStation Awards 2011 ceremony to recognize the top-selling games for Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable consoles for the year November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2011.
Sony has held the ceremony annually since 1995, and this year’s awards featured a new user-voted category for the best game developed outside of Japan, the World Game Prize.

Quadruple Platinum Prize: Awarded for shipping more than four million copies in Japan.
Gold Prize: Awarded for shipping more than 500,000 copies in Japan.

PlayStation Store Special Prize: Awarded to the top five game titles downloaded from the PlayStation Store.
