Final Fantasy XIII-2 Will Be DLC-Happy, Still No Word on Vita UMD Passports

At a recent Square Enix members event, producer Yoshinori Kitase dropped a few more details on the downloadable content we’ll be seeing for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Besides the Omega boss battle and additional costumes for Noel and Serah, the game will feature additional DLC scenarios. He also mentioned that having characters from the game’s prequel downloadable for use in battle is also currently under consideration.

At this same event, a Sony Computer Entertainment representative explained that the idea of a UMD Passport — a program in which PSP owners can buy discounted downloadable versions of the UMD games they own — is all up to the game makers, stating that the support must come from the companies who own the titles. Currently Square Enix does not have any UMD passport titles — let’s hope this changes in the future so you won’t have to re-purchase that copy of Dissidia Duodecim.
