Final Fantasy XIV players will soon have to pay a monthly fee in order to continue adventuring in Eorzea, and Square Enix used the phat loot card in order to entice them.
Remember the Famitsu cover illustration we published a a few months ago, that showcased the job-specific armor (that Final Fantasy XI players would call “Artifact”) that Square Enix will roll out together with the jobs themselves in the upcoming patch 1.21? Today the producer Naoki Yoshida published a picture of the coveted armor sets in game.
You can see the picture above, covering all the jobs that will be implemented with the initial rollout (Paladin, Warrior, Bard, Dragoon, White Mage, Black Mage and Monk).
Yoshida also hinted at two new dungeons coming with 1.21, job-specific weapons (getting them will involve a degree of challenge, it seems) coming with a subsequent patch, and mock-ups of player “estate” areas being prepared.
