Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida Confirms that The Last Guardian is NOT Canceled

by Dec 22nd 2011 5:06PM 0 Comments

We previously reported a rumor started by GameStop alleging that Team ICO’s upcoming PS3 exclusive The Last Guardian might have been canceled.

The rumor was already denied by Sony’s senior director of corporate communications Patrick Seybold, but if you want an even more direct denial, nothing would be more appropriate than the word of president of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida, considering that Team ICO is part of SCE Japan Studio under his direct responsibility.

Yoshida was directly asked by me and many other twitter users if the project was canceled, and his responses have been curt but completely clear cut.

Here’s the question I asked:

@yosp Gamestop is saying that The Last Guardian is canceled, any chance you can confirm or deny this rumor, please? Thank you.”

And here’s his reply:

@Abriael deny.”

Not very wordy, but clear, but if you need more, here’s a few:

@danhese007 No, it has not.”

@streetmagix The rumor is false.”

@wolfflame21 It’s not so.”

There are quite a few more, but you get the picture. Don’t worry world, you’re still getting The Last Guardian.
