Fire Emblem Will Be the First 3DS Game to Feature Paid DLC

The last Nintendo 3DS firmware update allowed developers to implement billing programs for paid DLC on the handheld. It’s a practice the company said it would allow but wasn’t particularly happy about because it felt players deserved the “complete experience.”

Well, looks like Nintendo itself is hopping on that paid DLC bandwagon when the Fire Emblem title in development for the 3DS will incorporate that feature. Both your average credit and debit cards will work to buy items for the title in addition to prepaid cards. Along with the announcement that Fire Emblem will support paid DLC we’ve also learned the game is aiming for a March release date.
