Forget about gunning xenomorphs down until the leaves grow back and change colors again. Sega today announced Aliens: Colonial Marines won’t be on store shelves until fall at the earliest. Gearbox Software is making creative decisions outside the game’s original blueprint, the two companies said in a statement.
“Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line,” the statement also read.
The game, originally scheduled for a spring release, will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It was also one of the first titles teased for Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U. Footage of the game evokes the same aesthetic portrayed in 1986′s Aliens, which is largely credited as one of the main inspirations for the space marine genre as we know it.
