Aliens and Colonial Marines Collide in the New ‘Contact’ Trailer

There’s nothing more terrifying than looking up at the ceiling to see the source of the mysterious goo dripping on your colonial Marine helmet is xenomorph saliva. Fortunately for the guys in the newest Aliens: Colonial Marines trailer, none of them is privy to this scene. On the downside, there’s a hell of a lot of freakishly fast and furious aliens swarming the bowels of the ship these guys are scouting out. Although the game has been pushed back to fall, Sega and Gearbox Software have released this trailer that ties in quite nicely to the 1986 James Cameron classic.

In fact, the trailer also pays homage to Ridley Scott’s 1979 Alien, the dripping xenomorph blood harking to an iconic scene in the film where the Nostromo’s crew realizes it bleeds acid. Check out the full trailer after the jump.

The trailer has everything you could possibly hope for: freaked-out Marines, thrashing xenomorphs and the iconic blip-blip-blip of those makeshift radar devices. With any hope the game plays as well as it looks.
