ArenaNet announced today that Guild Wars 2 will get a dedicated Spanish language localization. The localization will only include subtitles, as no Spanish voice track will be added due to the diversity of spoken Spanish in different regions of the world.
On the other hand, as we already knew, the French and German localizations will both include a voice track in addition to subtitles.
ArenaNet is also looking for a spanish language Q&A editor to work on the localization. If you think you have what it takes you can apply here.
In other news, several sites reported that a console version of the game is in the works. ArenaNet claimed on twitter that the console port isn’t really news, and on the official forums that PC users shouldn’t panic over it.
I think “stay calm, don’t panic” will become my new mantra.
We stated multiple times in public that we have a small team working on a console version, but that we are fully dedicated to make the most kickass game for PC (I think the official statement did not use the word kickass, in case someone wants to semantically disect my post).
