We got word back in December that Nintendo was planning DLC releases for the upcoming SRPG Fire Emblem: Awakening. This is significant because the gaming giant has decried the use of DLC in the past. We’ve now got more details on this highly discussed content. First of all, the first DLC release will launch the same day as the game itself: April 18th. Secondly, this content will be free to download initially, transforming into a paid download after May 31st. That’s pretty neat, right?
Lastly and perhaps most importantly is what this content will actually consist of. Well, what does every Fire Emblem fan want? More episodes and maps is what, and that’s exactly what the extra content will add. Hopefully if this title ever makes it to North America, all of the extended content will as well. Fire Emblem: Awakening will be available in Japan on April 18th.
