RoboWashington Is BioShock Infinite’s Motorized Patriot

by Mar 8th 2012 9:30AM 1

We’ve all known George Washington would one day emerge from his grave wielding a gatling gun in order to put this country back on track. Well, BioShock Infinite has turned that scenario from a “what if?” into a virtual possibility with its motorized patriot enemy, a robotic recreation of the man often hailed as the father of the United States.

In this new behind-the-scenes video featurette for 2K’s latest foray into the BioShock universe, creative director Ken Levine and art director Nate Wells describe the enemy class that’ll be known as the heavy-hitter. Of course, the motorized patriot being a mechanical foe, he’s a bit more formidable than most enemies in that he’s got nothing to lose, save for a limb or two, by giving itself completely to battle. We’ve got the video for you after the jump.

See that huge gatling gun he’s rocking? That’s called the Pepper Mill. And, yes, once you’ve decimated the motorized patriot, the weapon is yours for the taking. It’s a bit like the Rivet Gun you get from Big Daddies in the first game, but from the sounds of it the only way to replenish its ammunition is to hunt down more motorized patriots. BioShock Infinite drops for the Xbox 360 and PS3 Oct. 16.
