I may not have been paying much attention to upcoming MMO Guild Wars 2, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t look wonderful. The game’s official website has been updated with a wealth of new information, including minimum required specs and details on three different versions of the game. That’s right, three. The first two are both digital only.
The digital edition comes with no frills but the deluxe edition includes various in-game bonuses, including: a Summon MistFire Wolf Skill, a Rytlock miniature, use of a golem banker for five days, a one-time boost for PVP rewards and a one-time boost for guild vaults, emblems and other rewards. Hit the break for the rest of the details.
The collector’s edition includes all the contents of the deluxe version, as well as: a Guild Wars 2 soundtrack, a steel case, a 10-inch Rytlock statue, five art frames and a portfolio to keep them in, a “custom” art frame and a 112 page hardcover book, entitled The Making of Guild Wars 2. That’s pretty plush. There’s no pricing yet for either of the digital versions but the collector’s edition will cost $150. Additionally, pre-ordering either version of the game will net you even more bonuses: Access to all Guild Wars 2 beta weekends, access to the game three days early, and a powerful Hero’s Band.
The Hero’s Band boosts Power, Precision, Toughness, Vitality, Healing, Condition Damage and Critical Damage by +2 each. I’m not sure if that’s really good or just okay or what so players feel free to comment.
Lastly, the minimum required PC specifications have been released. It seems to be quite memory intensive:
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 or better
- Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better
- NVIDIA GeForce 7800, ATI Radeon X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (256 MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
- 25GB available HDD space
All three versions of the game will be available for pre-purchase from April 10th at the game’s official website. Anybody planning on saving up for that collector’s edition?
