Japanese magazine CoroCoro has dished out a handful of details regarding the upcoming JRPGs Pokemon Black and White 2. Anyone expecting a simple rehash of the first games should probably reconsider. The magazine confirms that games will include all new lead characters (male and female trainers), villains, gym leaders, allies, areas and, of course, Pokemon.

The game is also set in a new location in the southern part of the Unova region.

The magazine also details two new gym leaders; one specializes in water types while the other prefers poison. The game will start in ‘Hiougi’ City (this name will most likely change by the time the game comes stateside) which is located in southern Unova. No new Pokemon seem to have been detailed in the magazine.

I don’t exactly expect Black and White 2 to be rehashes, but who knows what we’ll get from the first direct sequel in series history? Pokemon Black and White 2 will be available for the Nintendo DS this Fall.
