MechWarrior Online seems to be shaping up to be the the dream game that MechWarrior and BattleTech fans always wanted to play, and today Piranha Games released a new trailer revealing the new Caustic Valley map that will be available in the beta.

The map features a barren and poisoned landscape with a volcano and the ruins of an abandoned mining outpost. It will also include multiple heat sources and a higher ambient temperature that will force players to use cooler weapons and watch their heat generation carefully, in order to avoid shutting down and becoming sitting ducks in the face of their enemies.

In the Caustic Valley long range weapons will also have a tactical advantage, as the lower density of obstacles creates quite a few positions with great lines of sight to bombard the enemy Mechs from afar.
