If you haven’t heard of it, Maia is an indie god game, and brainchild of freelance developer Simon Roth. Players are tasked with building and maintaining a fledgling colony beneath a harsh alien world. The game likens itself to Peter Molyneux’s god games with an eerie 70′s sci-fi aestetic. If you’re interested in learning more, the game’s Kickstarter page has a bevy of information and trailers.
For now though, Maia has passed it’s £100,000 goal with just under three days to go. The final hours in a Kickstarter drive are usually some of the most productive, so it’s still possible that the game could hit some stretch goals as last minute donators come in. It’s truly amazing how much sites like this have done for indie gaming. We wish Simon and his team a productive development cycle and best of luck making Maia the next hit god game.
