Omar Kendall recently posted on the Playstation blog to detail Kat and Emmett Graves, the two DLC characters that will join the cast of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. The new fighting game does a great job of keeping their depictions fidelitous and the new additions are no exception. Kat’s gravity-bending powers translate well by granting Kat superior aerial mobility. In exchange for a second jump, Kat’s “Gravity Dash” acts as an eight-way dash that can be canceled into her myriad of kick attacks. She can also employ a gravity well to mess with the opponent’s movement. Okay, she’s Magneto, I just had to get that out there.
As for Emmett, the Starhawk protagonist utilizes a “build and battle”s system to load bunkers and turrets to alter his triangle moves. One bunker loadout gives Emmett a rocket launcher and grenade launcher to build massive AP and disrupt the enemy’s approach. If long-range isn’t the the name of the game, Emmett can switch his loadout to include a shotgun or proximity mine. Emmett can also load an AP generating construct to build super meter while raining down artillery.
The post goes on to detail the newest stage, a mashup between Heavenly Sword and Wipeout. The stage, named “Fearless” is said to promote confrontation with close quarters and damaging walls. There’s no detail as to whether the Wipeout cars will play a role as a stage hazard. The DLC will be available in early January, and will be free for the first two weeks. People who haven’t yet decided on the game should download the DLC anyway just in case. You can read the full details over on the Playstation blog, the gallery below can show you the two new characters in all their glory.
