Yersterday we saw the latest trailer of the (now closed) alpha of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, showcasing the instanced dungeon Tam-Tara Deepcroft.

Today we get to see more thanks to a batch of screenshots published by Square Enix Japan that, among other things, give us a more detailed glimpse on the dungeon’s final boss: Galvanth the Dominator.

He definitely looks quite imposing, even if Dungeons & Dragons fans might ask themselves what is a Mindflayer doing in Final Fantasy XIV. Those with good memory will respond that this isn’t the first time, as they already appeared in multiple installments of the series, even if their name was often changed in the western versions (to aberrations like Mind Flare). You can see for yourself in the gallery below.
