Yesterday we caught wind of a delightful rumor that Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming adventure game Tomb Raider would feature online multiplayer – a first for the popular and long-running series. The cover of the newest issue of Official Xbox Magazine has confirmed that this feature will be present in the game. The cover reads “Multiplayer revealed” and details a “fight for survival against friend and foe”. This goes in line with yesterday’s rumor, which claimed that players would be able to play as either Lara’s shipmates or the Yamatai scavengers in a number of modes.

The issue of OXM detailing Tomb Raider‘s multiplayer should arrive to subscribers “any day now” and will arrive on magazine stands on January 8th. Tomb Raider will be available on March 5th, 2013.
