If you follow my MMORPG coverage, you know that one of the titles I’m most excited about is ArcheAge, that brings a completely new and interesting take on MMORPGs with its expansive sandbox world and player-driven mechanics.
Today there are exciting news for anyone waiting for the game, that has successfully started its commercial service in South Korea just a few days ago. Trion Worlds announced with a press release that it will publish the game in North America, Europe, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand later this year through its Red Door publishing platform.
CEO and founder of XLGAMES (and creator of the old glorious Lineage) Jake Song accompanied the press release with his comment:
We’re thrilled to be working with Trion Worlds, a company who is setting a new standard for gaming by embracing original, high-quality IPs on a dynamic connected platform.
We are impressed with Trion’s track record as they have consistently delivered against an unwavering vision; we are confident partnering with Trion will help bring ArcheAge a successful game that satisfies audience both in East and West.
Lars Buttler, CEO and founder of Trion Worlds, added his own take on the deal:
We’re very impressed with ArcheAge, and the level of anticipation for the game is absolutely astonishing.
We are very proud of the catalog of world-class games we will be offering through Red Door. Now, with ArcheAge, we are bringing the best in Asia onto our platform.
If you don’t know what ArcheAge is all about, you can read my hands-on preview from the latest Korean closed beta phase. If you’re used to traditional theme park MMORPGs, you better be prepared for a few surprises. If you’re hearing a choir singing Hallelujah, it’s coming out of my window, right now.
