Just a few minutes ago I received a mail from Square Enix titled “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn – Beta”. I’m sure many of you did as well. Unfortunately it wasn’t exactly the invitation I was hoping for, but just a reminder to sign up. I honestly felt a little trolled.

Luckily someone at the publisher decided to make it up with another developer’s blog post, talking about a half a day-long test performed on the upcoming beta version by the whole development team. To give us a glimpse on it, they also posted three nice screenshots, that you can see below.

Too bad that, as usual for the developer’s blog, the screenies are really on the small side. Come on Square Enix, get some better hosting. Posting some 1920×1080 screenshots won’t bankrupt you and thumbnails are normally made to link to bigger pictures, not to be shown all by themselves…
