Europa Universalis IV’s Map Trailer Shows Places You Didn’t Even Know Existed

Do you know where Mewat was? What about Nizwa? I don’t, or at least didn’t before the new trailer of Europa Universalis IV prompted me to do some research.

One of the most important aspects of a strategy game is its map. Make it too underdetailed and the depth of the whole experience will suffer, with it quickly turning into a steamrolling exercise in which the whole world is conquered in a matter of hours. That doesn’t seem to be a flaw Europa Universalis IV will suffer from.

Paradox just published a trailer giving up a glimpse on the game’s rendition of our Earth, and what a delightful map it is. It shows the awesome level of detail the games of the EU series got us used to, and it even changes with the seasons. That’s definitely a lovely little touch. Curious? You can check it out in the video below.
