Skullgirls Fundraiser Clears $267,000 in Donations, Next DLC Character Big Band Detailed

Lab Zero’s Skullgirls fundraiser has been incredibly successful. In just a couple of days, fans have donated more than $267,000 and fully funded the development of the first DLC character Squigly – who’ll come complete with a stage, theme and story mode. With Squigly paid for, Lab Zero has now raised the curtain on the next planned DLC fighter for the game, and the game’s first male character  - Big Band.

Big Band – formerly known as Ben Birdland – was once a dutiful cop in New Meridian. When he defected from his corrupt unit, he was brutally beaten, and left within inches of his life and dependent upon an iron lung. He was then snatched up by the Anti-Skullgirl Labs and bastardized with machinery into Big Band. He’s now a soldier for the ASL and he fights to capture, incapacitate or altogether destroy the almighty Skullgirl.

At the time of this writing, the fundraiser is still more than $100,000 short of funding Big Band’s development (his development is secured once the donated funds clear $375,000), but the donations are pouring in at a steady rate and the community shows no signs of stopping. I predict that the funding goal for Big Band will be exceeded by the time the fundraiser closes on March 28th. Donate and read more about Squigly and Big Band here.
