New Sony Patent Could Mean Trophies For PSOne, PS2, Minis, and Old PS3 Games

A new patent has just been filled that could mean trophy support for any game in Sony’s catalogue.

The patent–titled “Method and Apparatus for Awarding Trophies”–is described by its Abstract as a way of adding trophy support to games that do not have trophies, without modifying the original game’s code. The method and apparatus detects particular triggers while the game is played, and awards trophies based on one or more of those triggers being activated.

It seems simple enough, but the process for lending trophy support after a game is made is quite difficult, and sometimes costly.

You can check out the patent here. What titles would you like to see receive Trophy support? Let us know in the comments below.
