Today Sega (Japan) released a new trailer of Phantasy Star Online 2, showcasing some of the new content and features that will come with the spring update about to hit the Japanese servers.
Japanese gamers (and those brave westerners that were tired of waiting and just went to play on the local servers) will be able to enjoy the raise of the level cap to 60, new weapons and new boss battles, matching the constant stream of updates that has graced the game since its release last summer.
Unfortunately Sega West recently revealed after months of guilty silence (they had to be prodded by Polygon to finally spill the beans) that the western release of the game has been delayed, and there’s no release date in sight. I can’t say that doesn’t ruffle my feathers, considering that Phantasy Star Online 2 has been released in Japan nine months ago, and no localization process should take that long unless the resources put into it are direly insufficient or there’s lack of real interest. I’m honestly starting to wonder which case applies and if we’ll ever see this fabled translation.
While i go on fuming you can check out the trailer below, of throw cool water in my face. That’d help…at least some.
