Gone are the tireless days of pausing your video game mid-level, reaching for the phone, computer, smartphone or tablet to order pizza. Now thanks to modern technology, gamers can order pizza from their Xbox 360 console all due to a one-of-a-kind partnership between Microsoft and Pizza Hut.
The “Pizza Hut for XBOX” app, now available, is also compatible with Kinect’s voice and motion-controlled input. Users can just speak to their Xbox or wave their hands to create a custom pizza with personalized toppings.
Before you jump on your console this very second, there are a few steps you must go through before ordering. First you must sync your Xbox Live account with a Pizza Hut account and select a nearby restaurant from which to place the order. Make sure to save your order settings to streamline future purchases, as well as view and take advantage of deals at local restaurants.
Don’t like pizza? Don’t worry. The app will let users order from the chain’s entire menu, including pasta, breadsticks and wings.
This convenient app can also sync to Facebook, allowing users to post details about their orders or brag to their friends about how hungry they were or how they just ordered from an inanimate object.
Microsoft’s director of programming for Xbox Live Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb said:
We’re always looking at ways to give our audience more of what they’re interested in. If you look at our audience, they love pizza. I mean, who doesn’t? It has international appeal, and Pizza Hut is a recognized brand that matches up well with the Xbox brand.
The Pizza Hut app launched April 23rd 2013 in the U.S., and Pizza Hut is offering customers a 15 percent discount on their first purchase, provided they place the order before May 6.
