Square Enix Details Final Fantasy XIV E3 Livestreams, Drops Hints on Unannounced Scholar Job

After yesterday’s sizable reveal about the release date and details, today Square Enix detailed the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn events that will be broadcast live during E3 as part of their Square Enix Presents program.

First of all, we’ll get a two-part Letter from the Producer Live with Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida . The first part will be in Japanese, hosted by Yoshida-san himself and by Community Manager Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi. The second part will be in English, and to accompany Yoshida-san there will be Community Manager Matt “Bayohne” Hilton and Localization Team lead Michael-Christopher Koji “Fernehalwes” Fox.

On top of that we’ll get a FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Battle Event & Community Recap in which members of the North American community team will show off the special battle content showcased at E3 and will gather reactions on it from the event attendees.

On a completely different front, remember the mysterious character on the far right of the “Job Wheel” illustration (that is being used as the Japanese box art of the game) by Akihiko Yoshida that many interpreted as a hint to the impending reveal of an unannounced Scholar job?

Today Michael-Christopher Koji Fox published a new Developers’ Blog post in which he hinted very strongly at that possibility. Here’s the exact quote.

Rumor has it that all of the gear shown here is actually in the game! Which would mean that bookish beauty in the mortar board on the far right is…!!!

That’s a terrible, terrible tease if I ever saw one. Of course he might not mean what most think he means. He could even be just trolling all the speculation that flooded the official forums in the past weeks. On this, your guess is really as good as mine.
