God Eater 2 can easily be seen as Namco Bandai’s PS Vita/PSP response to Monster Hunter, and has been a long time coming since its announcement in 2011.
While didn’t get a release date yet (Gods Eater 2‘s release date is basically seen as the Japanese version of Duke Nukem Forever), today Namco Bandai announced what’s arguably the next best thing during an event in Tokyo: the game is going to get a playable demo, and for that we do have a date. It’ll be available on the Japanese PSN on July the 25th for the PS Vita and on August the 1st for the PSP.
For the occasion the publisher also released a new trailer, and a large batch of new screenshots, that you can enjoy below. Here’s hoping that we get this game localized in the west faster than Namco Bandai’s usual standards. The previous chapter of the series — Gods Eater Burst — did make it westwards, after all.
