The soundtrack was one of the most appreciated features of the now dead original release of Final Fantasy XIV, especially due to some really memorable tracks by Nobuo Uematsu. While the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is drawing near, Square Enix is preparing to celebrate its unfortunate predecessor with a massive blu-ray soundtrack titled:  Before Meteor: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack. Even better, the it just appeared between the preorders available on the North American Square Enix Store for $49.99.

The soundtrack  includes 104 tracks for over five hours of music and a MP3 version for each track to be used with portable MP3 players. It also comes with a bonus track that will feature the “The End of an Era” trailer  with the music recorded in 5.1.

The track list spans the whole score used for the original Final Fantasy XIV, including the tracks composed after its release by Masayoshi Soken, Tsuyoshi Sekito and Naoshi Mizuta, in addition to those by Nobuo Uematsu.

With each purchase within the initial print run will come a code that will allow Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn players to redeem a cutesy/threatening in-game minion shaped like the fallen moon Dalamud, that brought the end of the original Final Fantasy XIV game. You can see it in the renders below.

At the moment the blu-ray isn’t yet available on the European Square Enix Store.
