There is not much we know about the details concerning the plot of Batman: Arkham Origins. The little that we have been told via the game’s trailers indicates that the primary antagonist for most of the game will be Black Mask, Gotham’s leader of the crmininal underworld during Batman’s second year on the job. A large plot-point involves a one-night-only $50 million bounty for whomever can slay the Batman. The assassins’ that we have already been introduced to include Deathstroke and Deadshot, along with other villains such as Bane, the Joker, Anarky, and The Penguin.
Copperhead has been revealed as the newest assassin in a trailer shown during the Batman: Arkham Origins panel yesterday at the San Diego Comic-Con. Warner Bros. Montreal has pulled a gender-bender with the character, turning him into a woman (interestingly, this is also alluded to in the trailer), and have turned a D-list villain into a formidable opponent for Batman. It is possible that there is no Harley Quinn this early on in Batman’s tenure, and this is WB’s choice for the role of prominent female villain. Copperhead was first introduced in the comics in 1968, and has made appearances in DC aninmated series as well.
Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25th, 2013. A Vita version of the game,Batman: Arkham Origins – Blackgate, is also in development by Armature Studio and will be released on the same day.
