For those of you who have been waiting patiently for some kind of multiplayer component in the Batman: Arkham series, look no further: Origins not only comes with multiplayer, but comes with a little more than gang on gang warfare.
As you can see in the trailer below, multiplayer pits the Joker Gang versus Bane’s gang, and then all of them versus the Dynamic Duo, a triple threat match that consists of 3 on 3 on 2 gameplay. From the looks of it, you’ll actually get to play as the Joker, with all of his tricks; Bane, with his Venom enhancements; their enforcers, with heavy guns; and Batman and Robin, who have all of their gadgets and stealth skills to rely on.
This directly goes against what was said before, that Robin would not be making it to the game due to when the game take’s place in Batman’s career (which was doubly weird since they the developers said there was a possibility of Batgirl being present), but Dickheads rejoice, there’s a little more Dick Grayson in the series, even if he’s not Nightwing. Maybe, just maybe, he’ll show up in the main narrative in some capacity, too.
Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25th, 2013. A Vita version of the game, Batman: Arkham Origins – Blackgate, is also in development by Armature Studio and will be released on the same day.
