Dragon’s Crown Sells More than 300,000 Units in Japan Between Retail and Download, Shortages Continue

The good news keeps on coming for Vanillaware’s masterpiece Dragon’s Crown, as the publisher Atlus just took to Twitter to spread some smiles and rainbows about the sales figures of the game.

Below you can see the tweets and my translation of each of them:

Moreover, we have an announcement about the PS3 & PS Vita Software Dragon’s Crown

More than 300,000 copies of the PS Vita and PS3  versions of Dragon’s Crown, that we launched on July the 25th, have been shipped (including the digital download version). It’s thanks to everyone’s support. Thank you very much.

In addition to that, the PS3 and PS Vita software Dragon’s Crown is very popular, so there are shortages at retail. We apologize, and we are doing our best to improve the situation. We’d appreciate if you could be patient.

Those that would like to purchase the PS3 and PS Vita software Dragon’s Crown, please consider purchasing the digital download version on the PlayStation Store.

300,000 copies is definitely a solid showing in just a week for a niche title like Dragon’s Crown, and I’m quite positive that the momentum will continue for a while as word of mouth spreads and shortages are addressed.

Also, don’t forget to check out my review of the game. Spoiler: I loved it.
