Tokyo Game Show Document Shows Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster for iOS (UPDATED)

UPDATE: swift as death and taxes Senior PR Manager David Yang from Square Enix USA responded to my appeal, clarifying that the iOS mention is indeed a listing mistake. The game is still scheduled for release only on PS3 and PS Vita.

It’s worth mentioning that this is the second time in a row a Final Fantasy game gets listed for the wrong platform since E3, where Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII was listed for PC in the posters plastered around Los Angeles.

An official document listing all the games to be showcased at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show includes a little surprise: Square Enix’s Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is listed for iOS alongside its already announced releases for PS3 and PS Vita, as you can see in the picture just below.

Of course it could very well be just a listing mistake, but you never know, especially considering that Square Enix has been very keen on releasing its titles on smartphones and tablets lately.

We reached out to Square Enix in order to ask for a clarification on a possible iOS port of the remake of the classic Final Fantasy title, and we’ll keep you updated if we receive any relevant information.

Hmmm, yea, I don’t know how well that could even run on an IPAD.

iPads are way more powerful than a PS2 and remember that this is an enhanced port not emulation or a current gen game. It’ll look the same.

Obviously, the Vita version will have the best finish and the best tech.
But we’re still waiting for FF Type-0.

Update: Square Enix officially admitted it was just a mistake.
