TGS 2013: PS4 Exclusive Deep Down Uses Native “Share” Feature of the Console for Tokyo Game Show Livestreams

Yesterday many were able to experience Capcom’s PS4 exclusive Deep Down for the first time thanks to Sony’s livestreams, but some have been wondering why there were two different streams. One, done on Ustream was clean and crisp, with no commentary and noise on top, while the other was quite noisy and had Producer Yoshinori Ono chatting all over it.

The reason is actually pretty simple: as confirmed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia President Hiroshi Kawano in an interview on Famitsu, the clean footage on Ustream was captured directly using the built-in “Share” feature of the console, activated by hitting the button with the same name on the DualShock 4. No smoke and mirrors, what you see is what you’ll get.

Below you can see a recording of the resulting stream, and if you want to see it live, there’s a second event happening tomorrow at 11:30 Japan Time.
