Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter Reaches $4 Million and Hits All Stretch Goals, Ends Successfully

The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter campaign is a testament to the power of dedicated and devoted fans. Mighty No. 9 is the most successful Japanese crowdfunding effort, as well one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever. At $4 Million (combining both Kickstarter and PayPal), the campaign has reached all of its stretch goals:

Mighty No. 9 (91)

The last goal reached was the Online Battle Race Mode. Two players compete online, racing to the end of slightly customized versions of single-player stages. You can see your rival as a “ghost” image in your game, but you can’t affect each other…save for the enemies you defeat being sent over to impede your opponent’s progress. I must admit, the online mode sounds really unique and incredibly fun.

It seriously is. And yeah that picture is weird, and yet strangely cute. It was drawn by Kimo Kimo, one of the main character artists 🙂

Congrats to the team! I look forward to playing it. I’ll probably have to purchase it on every Sony platform for that transferrable save.
