In between big announcements regarding Tales of Xillia 2 and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, Namco Bandai has been developing two more Tales games – only, they’re for Android and iOS devices. Tales of Bibliotheca is a “scenario collection” and in it players can relive memorable scenes and battles from various Tales titles, all with new illustrations, some new battles and the original voice acting.
Tales of Link is described as more of an original game and it will feature original characters, as well as familiar characters from other series entries. Link will incorporate a new turn-based battle system instead of the franchise’s tried and true real time battle system, and parties will consist of as many as 12 characters. Trailers for both of these games have just been released by Namco and their official Japanese websites can be found here and here.
Of course a western release for these games has not been confirmed. Both games are free to play, although Bibliotheca will have paid DLC scenarios. Tales of Bibliotheca is already available and Tales of Link will be available later this year. View the trailers below – doing so will at least give you a better idea of what Bibliotheca is about.
