Leaked Call of Duty: Ghosts PS4 Cover Jackets Show 49 GB Installation and More

by on October 24, 2013 3:44 PM 48

Want to see how the cover jacket of Call of Duty: Ghosts for PS4 looks? Now you can, even if not in English.

Twitter user Bati, that works at the Spanish branch of the retailer Game, tweeted the picture above, showing the Spanish cover jackets of the PS4 version of the game, including the back of the cover, that was never seen before.

From the picture we learn that the installation on the PS4′s hard disk will take at least a whopping 49 GB of space, meaning that the game’s Blu Ray is almost fully packed with data.

As an added piece of bonus information Bati also mention that the jackets are “slightly bigger” than those of PS3 games.

So will all PS4 games have mandatory installs?

  • Jack Slater

    We can read ‘video output : 720p, 1080i, 1080p’

Does this answer some questions ? ;)

    • Bozo Sapien

The Xbox One version reads the same way. ;)

      • Jack Slater

Even xbox360 and ps3 games boxes, most had 720p, and 1080i/p, upscaled or not(rarely).

The up scalers on next-gen systems are great , and really important, and nobody talks about it.

Often, before going gold, devs wished they had a little 5% of CPU left, to apply some anti aliasing processing, to decrease those edges, and the ugly aliasing. A game can have perfect textures, but if there is a lot of aliasing, it will look awful. On the other hand, a game with average textures, but an excellent anti aliasing processing, everything will look polished and pretty.

I hope the next gen upscalers can do this job: Just before sending a frame to the HDMI out, it applies a nice full scene AA, so everything looks polished and cristal clear, so when we see the game running, there is no aliasing at all.
Uncharted 2 and 3 was a good example. Textures were beautiful, and there was no aliasing at all.

Anyway, aliasing should be a thing from the past, and forbidden, on next gen consoles. Just like loading times when opening a menu, selecting an item, opening a door.it should be done in 0.1 seconds.

    • Giuseppe Nelva

No, it doesn’t, as it could very well be upscaled.

  • Slay

Anyone and everyone will be playing COD on xbox one.

    • Stang

Keep telling yourself that. You know where the most COD players will be? On 360.

      • Slay

and then they will flock to the xbox one. DUH!

        • Stang

          It will be 360, PC, PS3, PS4, XB1, Wii U.

          • Mitch

PC? Have you ever seen player counts on PC?

          • Slay

            no

          • Slay’sCommentHistory

            So basically you’re stupid?

        • andy

People need to go out and preorder the damn thing then if that is going to happen.

        • Slay’sCommentHistory

Did its processing power help downgrade it too?

    • Ace

anybody who matters plays FPS on PC anyway, so it doesn’t matter

      • Slay

        no.

        • Slay’sCommentHistory

Anyone with a brain can tell you that by looking at the games, dork

    • quinten488

      PS4 will dominate

  • Jack Slater

    Sure, Mister Giuseppe :)
I’m not going to buy it, I don’t play online, and bf3-4 aren’t know for their epic single player campaign, I think.

At least, it can do 720p.
12 years ago, we were playing _Italia map, on counter-strike, with maybe 1000 polygons per ennemi. Let’s not complain and criticize everything, everytime. And let’s thank the Lord for giving us enough health, a full working body, hands and eyes, so we can play our halos, the last of us or Mario karts.
    Alleluia!

    • Giuseppe Nelva

Oh I wasn’t criticizing anything. I’m a PC gamer first and foremost. I’m used to big installations :D

      • Mitch

Yeah but the average PC has a lot of storage, if every game is gonna be mandatory you’re PS4 will be full with 10 games…

        • Giuseppe Nelva

Mmmh you’d be surprised how many people go with 500 GB hard disks even on PC.

I had 500 GB myself until a few months ago. You just uninstall stuff and reinstall it later :D

        • https://twitter.com/XisThatKid Xis That Kid

you do know you can swap out your HDD. I know your saying this from a general consumer stand point and point noted but just wanted to make sure you know you can swap out any 5400rpm 2.5 HDD I put a 500GB in my 1st gen 80GB day one coulda put in a TB but couldn’t afford it at the time same with PS4 confirmed BTW

  • ISISSecretAgent

i guess it is optional, like most recent CODs gave you the option to install extra stuff to make it run better
    dat uncompressed everything? lol

    • Mitch

It’s ‘minimal’, so yeah it’s required

  • hamada_sivo

Love to see the PS VITA support there ! what’s written under the PS VITA icon is (supports remote gaming) .. that’s a confirmation there ! :)

  • matteoveglia

FYI blu ray discs are made in 50, 100 and 150GB types, all of which the PS3 and 4 can read so there’s still plenty of space to go.

    • NeoTechni

      Link?

  • http://sstatus.wordpress.com/ Matt

uh why is that even allowed

  • X1ultimateGamer

  • NL37

Welp, guess whos not doing the buy the ps3 version and download the ps4 game for a reduced price? Me, that’s like a quarter of my internet allocation AND, does Sony know what internet speeds and reliability is like outside japan, omg, this is gonna take like a week..or a few months, wowzers.

  • dirkradke

They are offering this as a download on the PS4? I can generally obtain 3 megabytes per second and this would take me over 16 hours to download. Hope the games graphics are worth it for those people who go for the digital download. I wonder how long it would take to install to the hard drive? An hour? Installing 7GB on my 360 right now takes 10-15 minutes. Also have a PS3, but don’t use it as often.

  • Simon

Even if the Bluray drive could read at maximum speed all the time (which it cannot) that would be a 31 minute install. In reality this could be an hour to install, and depending on what size drive ships in the PS4, that could also take 10% or more drive space for one freaking game.
