Shahid Ahmad’s Team Brought 25 Games to Vita in 2013, Teases “Amazing” PS4 Games: “Best Yet to Come”

Senior Business Development Manager Shahid Kamal Ahmad and his team at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have been behind the “recruitment” of a lot of games for the PS Vita’s library, despite the fact that the team is quite young, with just two years since its formation.

Today Ahmad tweeted to let us know that his team managed to bring 25 games to the PS Vita in one year.

He also mentioned that more are coming, and the #JRPGVita project is also progressing. Finally, he teased  that “amazing” PS4 and announced that the best has yet to come. shahid2

And just after he said that, he was already chatting with indie developer Sophie Houlden to get one of her games on the PS Vita, regardless the fact that it was almost midnight in London. Who needs to sleep anyway?

It’s hard not to share a heartfelt word of praise for the work of Ahmad and his team. By following him on Twitter it’s easy to see him doing his job in a way that has few equals in the industry, responding directly and promptly to requests and inquiries from indie developers that don’t need to go through “official” channels in order to reach him.

Personally, I can’t wait to see what he has in store for 2014. By the way, today it’s his birthday, so you may as well send him a “Happy birthday” tweet. Happy Birthday Shahid!

He’s a really great figure in the industry. It’s thanks to him and some other teams that the Vita is such an amazing indie machine.
But his teasing of a JRPG for Vita is killing me.

Oh cool, interested to see what they bring next. I heard he brought Terraria to Vita. The game is fantastic!

Best yet to come also sounds like the title of the theme for MGS1 “The Best is Yet to Come”. Perhaps we may get more MGS news in the future related to PS4 and PS Vita that Sony isn’t willing to share yet until 2014 probably, closer to Ground Zeroes’s release.

I wonder if #JRPGVita is referring to indie Dev RPGs. Well happy birthday to him and many more to him.
