ShockCast Ep. 155 – “All Generations End”

It certainly has been an interesting couple of weeks between my getting sick and the holidays following soon after. However, the crew and I are back to bring you one more ShockCast in 2013 before the year ends.

What is your game of the year? What are some of your gaming highlights of 2013? What do you want out of 2014?

As you can imagine, this is all about our Game of the Year choices and our hopes for the future of the industry in 2014 and beyond. We also spoke a little about some of our biggest surprises and highlights of the year. I can also assure you that not one “Year of Luigi” reference was made. Enjoy the show!

This week I was joined by Jorge Jimenez (Staff Writer) and Ryan Meitzler (Staff Writer), newcomer Tony Polanco (Staff Writer), and Dianna Lora (Community Manager). Many thanks to El Blanco Niño for our custom intro and outro.

My Game of the Year is Dragon’s Dogma:Dark Arisen although it’s an expansion of the original Dragon’s Dogma of last year, this goes off of My personal preference (I’m a Berserk Anime fan + it’s the first game I bothered to Platinum) and the only redeeming new franchise Capcom created aside from their other faults & flip flops post -the end of the last console generation.Yeah…so Dragons Dogma is a great game imo, most certainly looked as a sleeper hit to many other gamer’s. Also Deep Down seems to be taken example off of Dragon’s Dogma and the Demon/Dark Souls franchise, with a pinch of Monster Hunter multiplayer elements. My Highlights of 2013 was the PlayStation 4 and CrossBone reveal at E3, plus Me and my friends playing through the Last of Us on all difficulties.
Expectations of what I want out of 2014, first & foremost is so that my life can be a bit more situated and organized towards greater heights and for games like Guilty Gear Xrd,Dark Souls 2,Yakuza Ishin, the Order 1886 and MGSV to be great experiences. BTW great podcast and congrats on adding Romudeth to the DualShock fam !!!!Happy New YEAR!!!!

    Listening as I type….
Tony you fit in like that last missing piece of the puzzle… good look and good luck on your new endeavours for the new year. I like the fact that you eased up on the swearing too, well at least for this episode lol. Fan for life…
On another note I liked that married couple the rest of the crew from the Throwdown too, you should find away to continue to do stuff with them too, you will surely be missed over there.
