Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is going to be released soon on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3, and Director Hideo Kojima would like gamers to play the game on PS4, as he mentioned today on Twitter:
At the end of next month PS4, the long awaited next generation console will be released in Japan. Ground Zeroes will also be released at the end of the month after that. Ground Zeroes will also be launch on current generation consoles, but I want you to play on PS4 if possible.
He also continued by mentioning a little paradox between East and West:
I was talking in an interview overseas and they told me: “Next generation console? Here PS4 and ONE are already current generation”
In addition to that Kojima-san also gave another glimpse on the touch controls of the game when using a tablet, commenting “If you output the iDroid on a tablet or smartphone you can pitch and slide using a finger”
It’s worth mentioning that Kojima-san probably wasn’t expressing a brand preference in favor of PlayStation 4 (even if you never know with him: it wouldn’t be the first time he lets something like that slide), but he was most possibly talking about the next generation version as opposed to the old generation version, since the Xbox One still doesn’t have a firm release date in Japan.
Update: Kojima just tweeted the same message in English. I kind of expected him to add “and Xbox One” for the English version, but he didn’t. You can find the first English tweet here, and the second here.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will launch in North America on March 18th for PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. Unfortunately no PC version has been announced for the moment, but considering that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance got a late port on PC, we can possibly hold on some hope for Ground Zeroes to receive the same treatment.
