Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that their 2013 hit, Tomb Raider, will not be receiving any story-based DLC to coincide with the release of the Definitive Edition or in the future. The team has thrown all of their resources into developing the Definitive Edition for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in addition to the game’s unannounced sequel.
“The story of what Tomb Raider was in 2013, that was what we wanted,” Executive Producer Scot Amos told Eurogamer, “we had the world and setting and fiction where we wanted it to be. And that’s when we started moving the team over to the next story, the sequel. That was what took our focus rather than saying ‘let’s just add on some more DLC’. We want to tell the next big story, not lots of little stories.”
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is being developed by Crystal Dynamics alongside United Front Games and Nixxes, and will be published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 28th, 2014.
