Sly Cooper Movie Gets First Pictures and Details; Will it Spawn a PS4 Sequel?

If you love Sony’s Sly Cooper franchise, then might like this: blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment opened a Facebook page for the upcoming Sly Cooper movie, and it includes the first pictures, that you can see above and below, the logo, and a few details about the movie itself.

Plot Outline

Sly Cooper is a kinetic and comedic heist film that tells the story of Sly Cooper, an orphaned raccoon thief, along with his childhood friends and partners in crime, Bentley Turtle and Murray Hippo. In the film, Sly learns of his birth family’s secret legacy; that he comes from a long line of talented and international thieves. Endowed with this knowledge, Sly and his friends are catapulted into a global adventure as they race to reassemble pieces of an ancient book holding The Cooper Clan’s family secrets before it can fall into the hands of Clockwerk – an evil Russian metallic owl bent on ending the Cooper family line. From romantic Parisian backdrops to the lush mountains of China, gritty film noir meets bright, colorful graphic novels in this origin story of the world’s greatest thief-turned-hero.

The biggest question is: will the release of the movie, planned for 2015 (or 2016, depending if you believe the data listed above or the logo at the bottom of this post), create the demand of a new sequel of the lovely franchise, maybe on PS4? We can only hope so, and if it looked even remotely as good the movie (at least technically, I’m not too sure about some of the character design choices), we’d be in for a real treat.

Wow when I first saw this, I thought it was a fan made thing, but this is real? What the heck? I could say Sly doesn’t look like Sly, but that would be too easy.

I am in full out “Wait and See” Policy on this topic.

Sorry Nelva, this franchise is dead to Sony…..Sly Cooper on the PS and Vita sold horrible. Around 500K combined. And that’s with the reduced price of $39.99. I bought it day one though. If Sony does make a PS4 Sly game, I think it will be downloadable….or small

Sorry, but you’re wrong. Sly Cooper performed very well for a non-Nintendo platformer in a shooter driven market, meaning that theirs still life in the franchise. I expect to see another Sanzaru developed Sly in the next year or 2, as it doesn’t look like Sucker Punch ever plans of revisiting the franchise.

Actually 500K sounds really good considering that its a platformer, and kinda of a niche. This also means the game was made some profit.

What the hell is wrong with Murray’s face!?

    • ALKi1234

80% of people going to watch this movie has never played the game….so it doesn’t really matter.

      • Thanatos2k

It would look horrendous even to people who didn’t play the game.

The PS3 Sly game was brilliant i thought 😛 I hope they do a Sly for the PS4 & make it look Pixar Film like to 😛 (Sly in that Pic(& the gang) do look odd tho) 😀

It looks a little disgusting for some reason.

I really hope this movie does screw with Sly, the games were my childhood =P and the animation for this movie looks pretty bad, so, im skeptical…
