Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Triumphs at D.I.C.E., Brings Home GOTY and Nine More Awards – Full List

by on February 7, 2014 12:04 AM 8

Today the The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences held the 17th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards honoring the the year’s finest achievements in video games. They’re considered between the most prestigious awards of the year, as they’re judged by the industry itself.

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, that is already the most awarded video game in recorded history by critics, led nominations with 13 nods.

Not surprisingly, the game brought home the Game of the Year award, together with nine more, and missing only three of the awards it was nominated for, which is as close as a landslide victory as we’ll ever get.

Congrats to Naughty Dog. Truly one of the best developers in the industry.

Hmmm… to be fair, I think Tearaway is a lot more innovative than TLOU.

  • jarvis

yeah Tearway shouldve got the innovative but nevertheless TLOU is the dominant in 2013.

    • XanderZane41

      I completely agree.

  • ALKi1234

Only good can come out of all this. Now the Uncharted team has the advantage of new hardware and i can bet you their going to want and beat TLOU. I would love to c uncharted with a realistic twist like in TLOU.

  • datdude

Trophy unlocked….Legendary status achieved. Naughty Dog is on top of their game. Can’t wait to see what Uncharted brings for PS4.

  • Johnnie

    Congrats. They deserved them all.

Naughty Dog did a great job. Some of the award TLOU received had me scratching my head though. “Innovation in Gaming”? What was innovative about TLOU? Achievement in Visual Engineering & Animation? What!?!? Sure the game looks great, but the animation isn’t any better then what’s already out there. Achievement in Game Direction? I’m surprised Bioshock Infinite wasn’t in the category. I don’t think it should have gotten 9 awards. Sure 4-5 of them are definitely justified, but that’s about it.
