Today Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Director Hideo Kojima teased something that could very well be the future release of a limited edition PS4 console bound to the game, or a similar initiative in collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment.
After all, I wonder if you want a limited edition?
When I read that, it definitely rang the alarm which would eventually turn into a siren l when he later tweeted again, saying something quite a lot more specific:
[SONY] × [PS4] × [MGS GZ] collaboration initiative is in progress. More information at a later date.
While there hasn’t been any official announcement, so we should take this with the customary pinch of salt, the timing is telling. The first tweet came right after Kojima-san went on a trip on the memory lane showing off all the past limited edition PlayStation consoles he worked on and expressing undying love for the gun Metal PS3 that was released in bundle with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots. It’s a little too timely to be completely random.
Can we expect a gun metal PS4? Time will tell. At least we know for sure that some kind of joint project is underway between Kojima Productions and Sony Computer Entertainment for the launch of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
One thing is for sure: I’m throwing 400 bucks at the screen right now, and I’m fairly disappointed because nothing is happening.
